​Pests A Thoughtful Approach​
Landscape Rehydration and Disaster Risk Reduction Project - 'Licola Rehydration'
This is a capacity building project at a demonstration site near Licola regarding methods to increase resilience towards climate action, bush fires and flooding events by increasing productivity, soils, biodiversity, and moisture retention.

Funded by the Dept Industry, Science, Energy and Resources and finishes in early 2025. MDLN is partnering with The Mulloon Institute.
West Gippsland Dung Beetle Monitoring Project - 'Dung Beetle'
This partnership between Latrobe Catchment Landcare Network (LCLN) and MDLN is to close the information gap around Dung Beetle species and diversity by implementing a 12 month monitoring program across the West Gippsland Catchment.
Maffra and Districts Growing Firewise – ‘Firewise’
This project is increasing knowledge around fire-risk reduction through plant selection and landscape designs in home gardens and agricultural settings at five demonstration sites: Blackall Ck, Stratford, Glenmaggie, Longford Primary School, Meerlieu and Sandhill Road, Stratford.

This is funded by the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (FNPW) and finishes in early 2025.
Noticing with iNaturalist
This project engages with the district's vibrant natural environment through iNaturalist with the ultimate aim of establishing Friends Groups. There are
introductory sessions at Heyfield Wetlands and Sale's Lakes Guyatt & Guthridge and follow up session to fine tune
knowledge gained in the preliminary sessions.

Extending the Biolink: Maffra to Tinamba
'Extending the Biolink'
Building on previous year's planting and weed management on the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail (GPRT) this project extends work to Gannons Lane with partners including schools and community groups.
Funded by 2023 Victorian Landcare Grants and finishes in early 2025.
A thoughtful approach to controlling pest plants and animals
This project includes a field day with video production and printed leaflets to help boost landowner understanding of the best practices to minimise problems with pest plants and animals

This is funded by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action under the Partnerships Against Pests Program and finishes at the end of 2025 (with report due January 2026).
